Are you thinking of listing on PLUS Markets?
In the past PLUS Markets may have been viewed as a stepping stone to the LSE's AIM but in today’s current economic climate the market is now standing tall on its own two feet . The similarities between AIM in the early years, and the position of PLUS Markets now are growing. These similarities are most obvious in terms of the light touch regulation, the cost effective listing fees offered by PLUS, and the improving liquidity of a junior market as more and more people begin to take notice of it.
Both the cost-effectiveness of listing directly on and the cost-savings of moving over to PLUS are considerable, compared to the fees involved in an admission to AIM and the on going fees of the NOMAD, corporate broker and a PR agency.
The cost saving provides those smaller companies, with minimal sums of money, the opportunity to become listed and use “quoted paper” and the ability to grow aggressively though acquisition rather than just organically.
Investors in a well run company will stay with that company regardless of what exchange it is on. The Market Makers in AIM companies are by and large the same Market Makers who look after PLUS Market companies.
A PLUS quote offers small cap companies the exposure that AIM just can not provide these days. The challenge for institutional investors to get involved is happening, but not as fast as some would like to see, however the foundation is there to develop their interest since PLUS Markets achieved its Recognised Investment Exchange ("RIE") status. It has also given the market the gravitas required to make Companies, with a market capitalisation of up to at least £50m, take notice, leaving behind a number of the negatives it suffered in its previous OFEX guise and the third tier UK Markets. This status now gives PLUS a much stronger position fully recognised by the Financial Services Authority, which allows it to be viewed in the eyes of Companies, Advisors and Investors on the same level as the LSE and other European exchanges.
International companies are becoming increasingly interested in a PLUS quote and we are receiving unsolicited calls and emails from overseas companies and their professionals who are reviewing the benefits of listing on PLUS compared to other markets both in the UK and Europe.
PLUS Markets group have produced a leaflet entitled "Are you on the right market? How to move to PLUS" for companies that are quoted on other UK Markets who may be considering moving their listing to PLUS. This can be found by Clicking Here
